I ordered a roast beef sandwich with comes with a side of your chose and access to the veggie cart which has salad, pickles, and pasta! The roast beef was filled to the brim which was great! You really get your moneys worth specially when you can get as much as you want from the veggie cart. Try to get there early, they are only open during lunch time (11am-3pm) so its kind of hard to eat here because you might be in school or work far from here.

I grew up on Portillo's in the Chicago suburbs during the 70's. It's awesome that they made it to California. I make the 140 mile round trip at least 4-6 times a year. My go-to is the Jumbo Dog pickle only and the Italian Beef, double dipped. Top that off with a Chocolate Malt. Vienna Beef hot dogs aren't just hot dogs...they are by far the best. Thank you Portillo's for hooking us up with 20+ sandwiches on Christmas Eve...you made a whole bunch of people happy!

Surprisingly good. Very high quality food, very large variety of offerings from hot dogs to beef sandwiches to an entire salad bar. To the actual bar bar. The restaurant is also huge inside and they're decorated quite cutely with prohibition era props. Overall a great spot to check out for just about anyone

Questions & Answers

There are only a few outside of Chicago or the midwest. We have one in Buena Park and one on MoVal. II have friends who come from San Diego to visit... Just to eat there for dinner II don't see them expanding a lot in CA because real estate is pricier in many location

If you mean the rolls the answer is yes.

Yes. There delicious

They have salads, which should be gluten free. You could also order their roast beef without the bun. They also have a allergen page on their website which details their gluten free options.

Yes, they have a large area with bigger tables in back. We had a party of 14, just slid tables and chairs together.
